American Beauty actor Mena Suvari insists that she’s “finally content” with her new life as a singleton, post her recent split with concert promoter Simone Sestito.
The actor filed for a divorce from him in January, two years after the couple wed in Vatican City, Italy. Suvari is now opening up about the break-up to Boston Common magazine, but claims that the rumours suggesting her fame pushed the pair apart are unfounded.
“I don’t let that affect my personal relationships,” Contactmusic quoted the actor as saying. Instead, the 33-year-old actor hints that the split came after a little soul-searching.
“It’s taken years to get to know myself. I had never really taken time to cultivate who I was. I’ve felt drained by it. But I feel like I’m really, finally content at this point in my life. I’m accepting of who I am and how diverse I am and honouring that. All of it,” added petite actor, who is still trying to make a strong foothold as a solo actor in Hollywood despite all her experience.
