It wasn’t exactly Coyote Ugly. But the Harley Davidson girls were calling the shots recently. If the audience went looking for loads of glamour and razzmatazz to a show very subtly called Leather & Lace, they were not disappointed. The venue: Agni, The Park. The audience: A gang of men loving every minute of the act that can only be described as racy.
Clad in leather hot pants to begin with, Melinda Dickson and Carrie Acevedo moved on to lacy satin skirts and silk stockings and had the leery eyed guys asking for more. Subsequently, they gave the guys tequila shots and the temperatures soared even higher.
If Delhiites were lapping it all up, the two dancers weren’t any less happy about performing in the Capital. “It’s fun performing here. The act here is kind of more personal. The only difference is that it’s more of booze play back home,” said Carrie. Incidentally, she owns a biker bar back in the USA. “Indians have high energy and excitement levels,” added Melinda. “It’s new to everyone here but the enthusiasm is great.” Interestingly, both Carrie and Melinda are 27. They’ve been performing together for a decade now.

The ubiquitous Italian Trade Commissioner Guglielmo Galli was so happy with the music that he urged his charming wife Irena, to dance with him and had the shutterbugs go trigger-happy.
The duo performed at Kolkata earlier this month and don’t have any more shows lined up in India. At least not for now.
But Farook Singh, who manages the awesome twosome in the United States, said he was planning another major show in the country soon.
DJ Monty, who plays at Agni, was overheard asking for an encore every month. When he wasn’t himself ogling at the duo, he mixed numbers like Tonight I will be your naughty girl, “If we’re exposed to everything else that’s Western then why not this?” he asks.
Why not, indeed!
