Aarya 2 trailer: Sushmita Sen returns to battlefield as the deadliest ‘working mother’. Watch
Sushmita Sen has shared the trailer for the upcoming second season of Aarya. The Disney+ Hotstar show marked her return to acting last year.
Sushmita Sen is back with the second season of her hit action drama, Aarya. On Thursday, she shared the first trailer for the upcoming season of the show on social media.

The trailer shows that after spending a few days away from the chaos, trying to keep her family safe, Aarya has returned to the battlefield. More gangsters and powerful men have raised their heads, thirsty for revenge.
She is vulnerable and scared for the safety of her children but unwilling to throw up her arms in defeat. She also goes back to Sikandar Kher's Daulat, who was sent to prison in the last season, asking him to help her out. He, however, tells her to embrace her inner lioness again.

Aarya is directed by Ram Madhvani, who has also made Neerja with Sonam Kapoor. He also recently released Dhamaka with Kartik Aaryan.
Giving an insight into Sushmita's character in the second season, Ram said in a press statement: “We are excited to present the trailer of Aarya Season 2. Aarya, as a character, symbolises strength and vulnerability. She has to face her past so that she can save her family to protect her future. In the second season, the audiences encounter Aarya in a new light. While in the first season, we saw her take the moral stand on the incidents around her life, this time we will see her emerge with a survival instinct like never before. We are grateful that Disney+ Hotstar and Endemol Shine have given the express creative liberty to reimagine the journey of Aarya in Season 2.”
Sushmita said she's ‘supercharged’ about the new season: “After being nominated for the previous season for the International Emmy awards, we are supercharged for the second season. Season 2 is not just about Aarya, a strong woman but also a warrior. The new chapter is a fascinating revelation of the character and has proved to be a huge learning for me as an actor. I challenged myself by donning Aarya in a new avatar and I hope that the audiences will appreciate her fierce, unapologetic self in the second season.”
In a recent interview with India Today, Ram revealed that Aarya was actually conceptualised as a film. He said, “Aarya was supposed to be made into a movie and it didn’t happen. It got dropped a month before and on September 13, at 2 o’clock when I was told it won’t work as a movie, I told myself I will cry till 2 o’clock on September 14, and then I said enough, I am done with crying and that’s when Neerja got made.”
He added, "I think I have the utmost faith in the universe, so I tell myself whatever is happening, the scriptwriter in the sky is telling you something. So I fall backward into the lap of the universe, I blindly trust the bigger scheme of things and the universe and I feel that is the only way you can exist in this business.”
Aarya will be out on December 10.
