The actor was in Ramjas College for a bike rally — a promotional activity for her film, Turning 30, which opens this Friday. She and her entire entourage, including co-actor Purab Kohli, rode through the campus sans helmets.
When quizzed, Panag said, ”It was a brief ride. The director wanted our faces to be seen. I’m otherwise very safety conscious and always ride with a helmet.”
While students enjoyed the sight, the cops weren’t pleased. “We’re aware that the rule has been broken. We plan to take action against the men. Women can’t be prosecuted because the law in Delhi has exempted them from wearing helmets,” said joint commissioner of police (traffic), Satyendra Garg.
