‘Why single out Abhi?’

In fact, she is quick to come to his defence. “Why do you guys single him out all the time? I’m sure there are many other actors whose films have not done well. There are good films and bad films. But he is the only one picked on,” she says.

Dressed in a Gauri-Nainika gown, the actor made an appearance in town for the launch of the Longines DolceVita collection. Ash shot a commercial for the watch in Rome along with English actor Kate Winslet and Taiwanese model-actor Chi-ling Lin. “It was wonderful shooting with Kate and Chi-Ling. We are like-minded women,” she recalls.

And, the flops she delivered this year, are doing nothing to dampen her spirits. “It’s been a busy year, but at the same time, fantastic and fruitful, both personally and professionally. I am very satisfied with the variety and array of characters that I could portray,” she says.

Rumours are rife that Ash is part of Vishal Bharadwaj’s next film, but she has her lips pursed. “Talks are on. If you know me well enough, I have not made announcements about my projects. Let others talk about it.” What about her plans for the 2011? “I never make any new year resolutions or plans. I take each day as it comes,” she signs off.
