Basu, who’s known for her label Fightercock (that she shares with husband and designer Abhishek Dutta), said, “Fightercock was a relatively new brand and hence we focused on it for all these years. But our store has always stocked the brand Nandita Basu. Moreover, it is very difficult to do two shows at a fashion week, so it’ll be just me showcasing this time.”
The talented designer chose to get back to her solo label to coincide with the launch of her new store at The Crescent in Lado Sarai.
“My line, this season, is inspired by a Japanese print artist named Kuniyoshi. You’ll find lots of slim-fits such as pencil skirts with fitted tops, skinny pants in dark colours such as browns and maroons with a flush of colours in between. The collection is a riot of colours,” said Basu.
