With the temperature soaring high, the time seems right for celebrating the summer weekend with a pool party. Before you head off to take a dip with your gang, here are some beauty hacks to make you look like a million bucks at this do. No, you don’t need to cake on the foundation or flaunt faux lashes. Pool parties are all about keeping the makeup simple, water-proof and fun. Here’s how:

Slather on the SPF

Whether you are hitting the beach or the pool party, applying a good water-proof sunscreen is a must to avoid unsightly tanning. With no barrier between your skin and water, UV radiations and the chemicals in the water can directly sink into your skin. So, after applying the sunscreen, give it at least 20 minutes to soak in and you are set.

Chic coverage

Steer clear of greasy foundations to avoid smudge mishaps. If you can’t go without coverage, invest in a water resistant concealer. Apply and blend it well before hitting the pool. Of peepers and pouts

Dab a little of a silicon-based primer to your eyelids and lips. This will help your lipstick and eye makeup last throughout the day. Opt for fun, pop-hued water-proof eye shadows and lipsticks. For a perfect cat eye, use a water-proof, silicon-based eyeliner and plump your lashes with a mascara of the same kind. You can also use your cream blush as wash-proof lip stain.

Get sun-kissed
Looking to sport a glam, tanned look? Then, accentuate your sun-kissed look with an oil-free bronzer that can withstand the humid weather. Choose a bronzer in a shade that looks like a natural tan. Dust the bronzer on your eyelids, above your cheekbones and on the apples of your cheeks, a little on your forehead, temples, and chin. Follow with a tiny bit of pink powder blush on your cheeks.
