India Couture Week: Designer Manish Malhotra to close the fashion affair in Delhi

India Couture Week begins in Delhi on July 24 and designer Manish Malhotra, who opened the couture showcase last year, will do the finale this time around.

The upcoming India Couture Week, organised by Fashion Design Council of India, will have designer Manish Malhotra closing the fashion extravaganza, on July 30. Malhotra opened couture week last year and this is the fourth time that he will do the finale for the fashion showcase, having been a part of the couture extravaganza for the past eight years.

Last year, actors Fawad Khan and Deepika Padukone walked for him, and starry presence is expected this time around too. The designer showcased a collection called The Persian Story last year, which included couture gowns, sheer blouses and exquisite lehengas interspersed with Bardot blouses, intricate embellishments and a play of velvet reds and maroons.

Malhotra is known for dressing many from the Indian film industry, and has also been a costume designer and stylist for multiple Bollywood projects for over 25 years.

This time around, the India Couture Week, now in its tenth edition, will be a week long event. Fourteen designers will be showcasing their creations at the Taj Palace hotel in the Capital, with a few offsite shows planned too.
