This is how Bollywood aces the military fashion

Camouflage prints are hot right now, and Bollywood celebs are making the most of the trend.
There’s no doubt we love the army print on our soldiers. But taking it a notch higher on the fashion front are our Bollywood stars, and how!
A fashion staple, army print — also known as camouflage print as it’s made by combining different colours — never went out of vogue. But the impact’s got to be bigger when you have names like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh sporting the trend.

Talking about the origin of army prints, designer Troy Costa says, “The military style came into existence after World War I. Also, it was during the ’60s that we saw hippies dress up in the military style. It was a sign of revolt for them.”

“For a biker like me, camouflage is a natural fit. It’s empowering and subtly says ‘I can take care of myself’. The trend is back because camouflage is cool, rugged,” says designer Nikhil Mehra.

Wondering if it will suit you? Sure, camouflage prints are not tricky, says stylist Vikram Seth. “The look can be pulled off with any casual attire. Also, women look equally good in camouflage prints as men,” he says.
