Steer clear of heavy makeup and overwhelming looks this wedding season (Waseem Gashroo/HT Photo, Shara Ashraf/Concept and Styling)

From neat, gelled back slick hair to berry lips paired with soft smokey eyes, here’s how to put your best face forward this wedding season.

If you are planning to hire a makeup artist for your big day, make sure you know exactly what kind of beauty and hair looks you want from her. A heavy-set bun that every one else does? Ornament-infused hair or soft curls? Well, we suggest you ditch the same ol’ styles and get experimental for your big day. Here’s some quick inspiration to make your style refreshing and global.

Pick your style — from gelled back slick to the brown soft smokey eye and nude lips and make sure that you are on top of your style game this wedding season.

Gelled-back for the cocktail

Try the just-out-of-the-pool look for your cocktail function, to go with that sexy gown. Dip your fingers in a pot of pomade or your everyday hair gel and run it through the mane. Use a comb to now push the hair on the crown back. Alternatively, you can coat the comb teeth with the gel too.

Berry lip for the wedding

For a winter wedding, the berry lip is a hit. Especially, if you are going for shades of gold and metallics. Use a lip pencil to highlight the cupids bow and use a brush to now fill in the lip with a deep burgundy hue. Top with a sheer gloss to add some sheen to your big day.

Make an impact with a cocoa shade on the eyelids. Use a brown eyepencil on the lash line. Now, apply a matte brown shadow and use your fingertips to blend the two. Finish with a different shade of brown on the waterline and pale peach on the lips.
