‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ campaign draws over 2.5 lakh student entries
Students from Classes 11 and 12 share ideas on tourism, jobs, education, health, technology and environment.
More than 2.5 lakh students have submitted essays and suggestions under the Uttarakhand government’s ‘Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand’ campaign, sharing their ideas on the state’s future across areas including tourism, employment, education, healthcare, technology and the environment.

The campaign was launched following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s interaction with nearly three lakh students of Classes 11 and 12 from across the state on August 10. During the online interaction, Dhami asked students to share how they would like to see Uttarakhand develop in the coming years.
Students share ideas across eight themes
Students from government and private schools have participated in the campaign, with entries being received from both the hill and plains regions of the state.
Their submissions cover eight broad themes, including tourism, employment, social development, forests and environment, education, healthcare and technology. The government has described the submissions as more than academic essays, saying they reflect the aspirations of the younger generation and their ideas for the future of Uttarakhand.
Dhami has said that practical and useful suggestions received through the campaign will be reviewed and may be considered while formulating policies and future action plans.
140 ideas to be shortlisted
Under the campaign, 140 of the best ideas will be selected. The students whose ideas are shortlisted will get an opportunity to discuss their proposals with senior government officers and secretaries.
The chief minister will also interact personally with the selected students to hear their views and understand their vision for the state.
Selected participants will also receive support related to career development and preparation for competitive examinations, along with other awards. Students who submit essays through the portal are being provided digital certificates.
The campaign has received participation from students across different parts of Uttarakhand, including those studying in government and private schools.
Deadline for submissions is August 24
Campaign coordinator Dr Rahul Agrawal said the initiative was aimed at connecting the younger generation directly with the state's development process and encouraging them to think about policy and governance.
The campaign is continuing to receive entries, with August 24 set as the final date for submission of essays.
Dhami is regularly reviewing the progress of the campaign. The government has said its objective is to ensure that young people are not only beneficiaries of development programmes but also active participants in shaping the idea of a developed Uttarakhand.
The chief minister said students' ideas have the potential to contribute to the state's development and that practical suggestions would be considered for inclusion in its future development efforts.
