A 28-year-old cab driver allegedly hanged himself to death from a tree using seat belt of his car, in a wooded area in Manesar on Monday, police said. In a suicide note, purportedly written by the driver, he said his wife was responsible for his death.

According to preliminary investigation, Naveen Kumar, 28, drove his car to the secluded area on Monday morning and walked about 80 metres into the wooded stretch and hanged himself from a tree using the seat belt of his car, assistant sub-inspector Somparkash Singh, who is the investigating officer of the case, said.

Singh said Kumar, a native of Mahendragarh, had a dispute with his wife and she left him and went to stay with her family. “He went to call her back, but her family did not allow her to go. He was depressed about it and it might have pushed him to suicide,” the officer said.
