The state has about 110 child care facilities and the Women and Child Development Department has already registered 83 of them.

The member secretary of the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (HSCPCR), Sumita Misra, said that the members of the commission have been apprised about the structure and functions of the existing mechanism for child protection services in the state.

Misra said that the members were also briefed about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 during a meeting.

Besides, jingles are already being aired on radio channels to spread awareness about the POCSO Act and a state level workshop is soon to be conducted by the Women and Child Development Department.

The HSCPCR can be contacted at hscpcrhry@gmail.com.
