The diversion has been put in place to facilitate construction of the Gateway Tower Metro station, which will take about four months more.

Civil work on the remaining five stations of the intra-Gurgaon service has been completed, RMGL officials said. Trial runs are scheduled to begin on October 2 with a March 2013 deadline to throw it open to residents.

As per the new plan, traffic coming from Delhi and going to Cyber City will use a newly-constructed 14-metre-wide, three-lane road.

RMGL has also constructed a service road in DLF Phase 3 (U Block) that runs between the metro station there and the residential area. This road will benefit U block residents who will use the Metro service and help them reach other blocks too. RMGL will take care of the maintenance till operation starts.
