After complaints by residents of Karamyogi Group Housing Society in Sector 10-A, the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Chandigarh, CR Rana, finally ordered filing of an FIR against RK Huda, former president of the society.

The action came after Huda failed to hand over the society records for special audit.

The Chandigarh office had earlier sought all the records twice for special enquiry.

The disgruntled residents of Karamyogi Society had levelled corruption charges against Huda, and had moved the head office in Chandigarh last September.

The FIR has come as a victory for the complainants.

Rana has also directed the assistant local registrar, Satish Rohilla, to issue a search warrant against Huda to recover all the society records.

Meanwhile, Gurgaon police commissioner Alok Mittal has directed the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) to initiate an inquiry into the matter.

“The society has handed over 720 pages of documentary evidences to the EOW,” said Vishal Bharat, a resident-cum-complainant, adding that Huda was involved in several wrongdoings.

Huda remained unavailable for comment.
