The logo sported a saffron touch with a white conch in the background and a chariot carrying Lord Krishna and Arjuna in the foreground. An arrow and the number 50, resembling ‘Aum’, also found space alongside the image. Among the dignitaries present on Saturday were Olympic medallists Yogeshwar Dutt and Sakshi Malik.

Replying to a question about the saffron touch to the logo, Khattar said, “all elements in the logo resemble the rich cultural history of Haryana”.

He said the state government will focus on providing skills and employment to 2 lakh youth in the next one year through industries. Khattar announced that from November 1, unemployed post graduate youth would get Rs.9,000 as assistance money in lieu of 100 hours of work.

Addressing the gathering at Kingdom of Dreams, the CM said, “The government would formulate a 50-point unique programme, which would be both a vision and roadmap for future development of the state.”

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted his invitation to be the chief guest of the inaugural function of the golden jubilee celebrations to be held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon on November 1.

To be marked by a host of cultural events, the celebrations will also focus on the Haryanvis’ contribution to the freedom struggle and upholding the best traditions and cultural practices, involving soldiers, farmers, sportspersons and young achievers of the state, Khattar said.

The CM also attended a seminar on ‘Growth and role of small and medium enterprises’. Speaking at the seminar, he said a fund of Rs. 1,000 crore will be set up in the state to promote industries.

He said 406 MoUs have been signed during his tenure with investment proposals of Rs. 6.41 lakh crore. Khattar said work on 109 projects has already started.

He said the government is adopting the concept of cluster for developing micro, small and Medium Enterprises.

Khattar said Panchkula and Sirsa districts have been declared open defecation free. Eight more districts are going to become open defecation free by November. He said the aim was to make Haryana open defecation free by December 2017

Event venue questioned

Replying to a query about holding logo event at Kingdom of Dreams (KoD), Khattar said an inquiry against the company was a separate matter. He said the government will pay all costs, rent and expenses for the event. KoD management has been issued several notices, the latest in August, for not paying pending dues of around Rs. 31.43 crore to the government. In its latest notice, Haryana urban development authority said the agency will stop operations of the entertainment hub if the company failed
to clear dues.
