Mobile toilets set up at Iffco Chowk

To provide better facilities to the public, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) on Thursday set up four public toilets at Iffco Chowk on a trial basis.

Huda has undertaken the move with the help of a private firm. “If the plan is successful, we will implement it in the entire city and install 1,000 such public toilets,” said Huda administrator Praveen Kumar.

Each toilet has a water storage capacity of 40 litre, besides 200 litre tank capacity.

The toilets will be connected to sewer lines if Huda sanctions the plan.

“If the toilet is conducive for people, I may finalise implementation of the project,” said the Huda administrator. Meanwhile, commuters have welcomed the move.

“Public utilities are nearly invisible as the government and district administration seems least bothered,” said Lalit Kumar.
