Unlike Leela, Nil Kamal Das, 23, who works at Artemis Health Sciences, got himself tested as soon as his fever began to rise.

"I began to shiver on September 20. I immediately got myself tested and I found that my platelets were only 29,000," he said. He took the decision because his roommate, Nitish Dubey, was also suffering from Dengue. Dubey, 22, was discharged from Artemis on September 17.

"In the initial stages, the test showed negative, but because of a low-platelet count I was admitted. Later I was tested positive for dengue," Nil added. Nil, a resident of Sikanderpur, has been in Artemis for one week. "I might get discharged in a day or two," he said.
