Hollywood actor Mark Strong is in Chandigarh, shooting for filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, a movie based on al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden’s killing.

Strong, 48, who has depicted villains in movies such as Sherlock Holmes and Stardust, is said to be playing a US Navy Seal officer in the movie. It was Navy Seals, US special operations force, which successfully carried Osama’s huntdown operation in Pakistan’s Abbottabad last year.

Strong landed in the city on Wednesday and started shooting on Saturday. “There is lot of excitement in the whole team after Mark’s visit. He is a superb actor. Some exciting scenes will be shot now,” a crew member said.

While suspense is still maintained over where the production team would recreate Abbottabad, gun totting military officers could be seen on the set where the shooting has been underway for two weeks now.
