BJP MLA Yogesh Verma shot at during Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh
BJP legislator Yogesh Verma was shot at by unidentified attackers in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh during Holi celebrations.
Unidentified gunmen shot at Yogesh Verma, BJP lawmaker from Lakhimpur assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday during Holi celebrations. The incident happened around 3 pm while he was on his way back to Rajgarh residence after celebrating Holi at his office in Patel Nagar area of the city.

When he reached near the Guru Nanak Inter College, some unidentified gunmen shot at Verma. He was below his right knee, Kheri police said. The attackers fled the spot.

The injured MLA was rushed to a neighbouring hospital, where doctors attending on him said his condition was out of danger.
Deputy SP Lakhimpur Vijay Anand confirmed the bullet injury to Verma. “The lawmaker has been sent for medical examination… Appropriate action would be taken after the complaint by him,” the police officer said.
Meanwhile, Kheri District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh and Superintendant of Police Poonam visited the injured BJP MLA in the hospital and gathered details.
