Several people are feared trapped after a three-storeyed residential building in Jamnagar city's Sadhana Colony area in Gujarat collapsed on Friday evening. According to officials, four people have been rescued in an operation mounted by the fire brigade and taken to a nearby hospital, reported news agency ANI. Meanwhile, local residents claimed that 8-10 people may be trapped in the debris.
Building collapses in Gujarat's Jamnagar
According to locals, the building was in a dilapidated condition and it collapsed when residents were still inside.
Reportedly, the building was constructed by the Gujarat Housing Board nearly three decades ago.
Jamnagar municipal commissioner DN Modi, senior civic officials, and local MLA Divyesh Akbari rushed to the spot and are overseeing the rescue operation, reported PTI.
