CJP news LIVE: Delhi Police has said that no permission has been sought till now for the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) proposed peaceful protest march on September 5.

Cockroach Janata Party has announced a peaceful protest march in Delhi on September 5, from India Gate to the Delhi Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Road. The 2.5-km march is expected to be joined by families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide, victims of alleged police excesses, students and youth organisations.

However, top Delhi Police sources said that no permission has been sought by the CJP for the proposed march so far. Police sources said that if a formal request is received, it will be examined as per the prevailing security and law-and-order considerations.

Sources further said that Delhi Police is not in a mode of leniency this time, unlike during the previous agitation, and is assessing the possible crowd size, movement of protesters and security requirements in advance.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has already started preparations in view of the September 5 protest. Security and traffic arrangements are being assessed, while inputs regarding the organisers and likely participation are also being monitored. Additional force deployment, including paramilitary personnel, is also being considered if required.

CJP news LIVE: The All India Students' Association (AISA) has lent support to the Cockroach Janta Party's proposed September 5 protest march in Delhi, demanding withdrawal of FIRs against students and an inquiry into alleged pellet and bullet firing during earlier demonstrations.

The issues that have prompted the youth mobilisation remain unresolved, with cases still pending against students despite the government's earlier commitment to withdraw them, AISA president Neha Bora told PTI on Wednesday.

"The government must fully withdraw all cases. There should be an inquiry into the firing of pellets and bullets, and the government must be fully prepared to take accountability for the same," the Left-wing student leader said.

"From AISA, we are seeing that this is a matter which still remains unresolved. The government itself had committed to withdrawing the cases, but still this is a major issue where students who protested against the government have cases against them," she said.

The Abhijeet Dipke-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced that it would resume peaceful mobilisation, after a month-long pause following negotiations with the Centre.

The proposed march on September 5, which falls on Teachers' Day, is to be led by families of students who died by suicide following the cancellation of the NEET exam and the subsequent re-test, and those who were allegedly subjected to police excesses during the July agitation.

CJP news LIVE: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav on Wednesday said she and other young SP MPs might have participated in the Delhi CJP protest even without the party leadership's permission, asserting that the movement proved to be a "Sanjivani booti" (life-saving herb) for the country.

A message -- that the BJP can be defeated and and it's not a difficult task -- has gone across the country from the protest, Yadav said, speaking at a press conference at the party headquarters.

"Agar permission nahi dete to hum nahi jaante hum kya karte. Ho sakta hai hum tab hi jaate. Yuva hum sab, hum sab thaan ke baithe hue the (If we wouldn't have got permission, we do not know what we would have done. Perhaps, we would have gone anyway. All of us young MPs were determined to go), she said.

CJP news LIVE: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) that has put the state of government schools at the centre of its ongoing campaign wrote to all state governments on Monday, seeking data on school infrastructure, teacher vacancies and funding over the last five years.

In identical letters addressed to education ministers, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said visuals from government schools circulating on social media showed that many children still lacked basic facilities such as safe drinking water, functional toilets, proper classrooms, and even benches.

"It has been 80 years since India gained Independence...No child in this country should be forced to study in such conditions. They are being treated worse than animals," Dipke wrote.

CJP news LIVE: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and national convenor Abhijeet Dipke has reportedly claimed that Chief Justice of India Surya Kant’s use of the term “cockroach”, which sparked the Gen-Z movement, was aimed at the party’s co-convenor Saurav Das, whom Dipke described as an “OG Cockroach”.

In an interview with News24, Dipke claimed that CJI Kant used the term “cockroach” for Das over his reporting on the judiciary during his time as a journalist.

“The word cockroach was used for Saurav. He (Das) is an OG cockroach,” Dipke said.

CJP news LIVE: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has questioned government spending on the upkeep of Union ministers’ residences in Lutyens’ Delhi, saying the money could instead be used to improve government schools.

The remarks came after a PTI report claimed that the annual upkeep bill for Union ministers’ residences had risen from ₹27 crore in 2014-15 to a record ₹92 crore in 2025-26.

Reacting to the figures, the CJP wrote on X, “Stop fixing your lavish homes, and fix the schools! ₹92 crore = 10 new world class government schools. The money is available, the intent to use it for government schools is missing.”

CJP news LIVE: Newly-appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Gajendra Singh Patel on Tuesday alleged that "foreign forces" were spreading hatred and misleading students into protesting in an attempt to divide the country.

"After an idea was spread on social media, young people from Gen Z joined it, but this idea was supported by external elements from behind the scenes in the country," Patel told reporters here.

One of the main issues the CJP plans to raise is the July 25 assurance regarding the withdrawal of first information reports registered against protesters.

The home departments of at least four states, including Delhi, had issued notifications stating that no action would be taken against protesters in these FIRs. However, the cases have still not been withdrawn.

CJP news LIVE: The Delhi Police has begun making security arrangements ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed September 5 march, citing security and traffic concerns, even as a senior officer on Tuesday said the group is yet to seek permission for the protest.

“The department has not received any request for any march or protest from their side,” deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma told HT.
