Gym trainer shot dead in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri; over 15 rounds fired

A gym trainer was shot dead after two suspects allegedly opened fire near Hansa Chowk in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri area on Monday morning, police said.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (south) Anant Mittal said the deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar. Police said over 15 rounds were fired by the two suspects during the incident, leaving Kumar critically injured. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case has been registered at Fatehpur Beri police station in connection with the incident.

Mittal said several teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the suspects.

“Police teams are conducting raids at multiple locations and efforts are underway to establish the circumstances leading to the firing and ascertain the motive behind the killing” he said.
