This announcement comes a day after Haryana sports minister Anil Vij announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh grant for the institution.
These announcements come after 23-year-old wrestler Sakshi Malik from Rohtak won a bronze medal in the recently-concluded Rio Olympics.
Vij’s announcement was made when a galaxy of ministers attended the finals of the Tiranga Rumal Chhoo tournament and awarded prize money to the winning team on Sunday night at the Dera’s indoor stadium in Sirsa.
Union sports minister Vijay Goel, who was also present, congratulated Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for promoting sports and said the Haryana government would support the dera in all its sporting endeavours.
The grant of Rs 11 lakh was announced to reportedly help the Dera build a sports village in Haryana. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh claimed the Dera would provide training and a hospitable environment for sportspersons.
