Man held in Ludhiana for killing wife in Goa hotel
Superintendent of police (crime) Pankaj Kumar Singh said Sukhwinder Singh, who was hiding in Ludhiana, had confessed to have murdered his wife by slitting her throat with a knife following a heated argument.
The Goa police on Friday arrested a man from Ludhiana in Punjab for allegedly killing his wife in a hotel at Arpora in north Goa on April 26.
Superintendent of police (crime) Pankaj Kumar Singh said Sukhwinder Singh, who was hiding in Ludhiana, had confessed to have murdered his wife by slitting her throat with a knife following a heated argument.
“On the fateful day, the duo had a heated argument after which he slit her throat with a knife,” the police officer said.
The body of Alka Saini, 28, who hailed from Una in Himachal Pradesh, was found with stab marks on her neck when housekeeping staff opened the hotel room on April 27 afternoon. The police later sent teams to different places to track down the suspect.
The police officer said Sukhwinder Singh checked out of the hotel, headed to Delhi and took a taxi to Chandigarh from the IGI airport in the national capital. However, he was not found at his registered addresses in Chandigarh and Kapurthala.
He was traced at a hotel near the Ludhiana bus stand with the help of technology and arrested, the officer added.
