Monsoon session Live: BJP MP asks govt to bring population control law

Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the Lok Sabha that his government wants to have the SC\/ST bill passed in the Parliament in the ongoing monsoon session. Here are the Live updates.

Both Houses of Parliament reconvened on Thursday, a day after political parties sparred over the updated citizens’ list in Assam.

The Opposition Congress and Trinamool Congress have stalled the functioning of the Rajya Sabha for two days over the NRC row.

Names of over 40 lakh people in Assam do not figure in the draft NRC, which is being prepared to identify illegal migrants in the state. The second draft of the NRC was published in Guwahati earlier this week.
