Operation Sindoor live updates: Canada has issued an advisory asking its citizens not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and areas within 10 km of India’s border with Pakistan, citing Indian air strikes carried out under Operation Sindoor on targets in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistani Punjab province on Wednesday.

Operation Sindoor live updates: On the all-party meeting, Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju tells ANI: "Our country has taken a big action. We have called for an all-party meeting over Operation Sindoor, which was conducted by our armed forces. We must brief all the parties about the situation, as it is the responsibility of the government, and the PM has directed us to do so. The entire country is with the armed forces."

Operation Sindoor live updates: The government has convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to brief them about the strike carried out by the armed forces targeting terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The meeting will begin at 11am.

You have killed 26 innocent civilians of ours, and still we attacked and destroyed only terrorist camps and no civilian area or military sites.” 

"We have the right to protect ourselves, and our army has done that... When the Pahalgam attack took place, the meeting was called in a hurry, and hence we didn't attend the meeting.. We wanted the action to be taken within 24 hours, and then we would have joined the meeting. Today, a meeting has been called again, and it is important, so we will be attending that..."  he adds.

Operation Sindoor live updates: Fire trucks have been called in Uri to assuage fire risk in the area due to Pakistan breaking the ceasefire to resort to artillery shelling at civilian areas after the Indian Army hit nine terror hotbeds in Pakistan on the intervening night of May 6 and May 7, reports ANI.

Pakistani actors, including Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, are facing fresh boycott calls in India, with the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) criticising statements made by them following India's Operation Sindoor. The organisation has urged the Indian film industry to stop “blindly supporting these artists under the pretext of art”.

On Wednesday, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued a press release calling out Pakistani actors for their reaction to India’s successful Operation Sindoor. The statement was shared on their handle on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The statements are not just disrespectful to our nation but also an insult to the countless innocent lives lost due to terrorism and the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country. AICWA reaffirms its strict and complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in India. No Indian artist will collaborate with any Pakistani talent, nor will any global platform be shared with them,” the statement read. Read more.

Himanshi Narwal, wife of Navy officer Vinay Narwal who was killed in the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, hailed India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ and said that it signifies her husband’s spirit that India will not tolerate terrorism and hatred, says a PTI report.

Himanshi thanked the government for naming the operation as ‘Operation Sindoor’ and requested the government to put an end to terrorism.

"I am thankful to the government. I also request them to end it here. Make sure that this is just the start of the end of terrorism in this country. Make sure no one ever has to go through what I am enduring right now," PTI quoted Himanshi as saying.

Operation Sindoor live updates: A loud explosion was heard in Pakistan's Lahore on Thursday morning, according to local broadcaster Geo TV and a Reuters witness. It is unclear what caused the explosion.

The explosion comes a day after India carried out strikes on nine terror camps within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Operation Sindoor live updates: A day after India carried out precision strikes on terrorist infrastructures at nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, satellite photos showing the extent of damage have emerged. The before and after photographs, shared by Maxar Technologies, show the damage caused by the missile strikes on in Bahawalpur and the city of Muridke in Pakistan.

Operation Sindoor live updates: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tells news agency PTI that India used its “right to respond” in targeting Pakistan's infrastructure.

“After the barbaric murder of 26 innocent civilians in Pahalgam, it was expected that India would use its right to respond in an appropriate and proportional way. I think the Centre and security forces have gone out of the way to ensure no military and civilian targets were hit in Pakistan. They have only hit terror bases,” Omar was quoted as saying by PTI.

He made the bizarre statement during a CNN interview when a journalist asked him if Pakistan had any evidence to prove its claim.

Operation Sindoor live updates: Singapore has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to defer all non-essential travel to India's Jammu & Kashmir and to Pakistan.

"In view of the volatile security situation between India and Pakistan, Singaporeans are advised to defer all non-essential travel to Jammu & Kashmir in India, and to Pakistan. Travellers should exercise precaution, especially at the border regions between Pakistan and India," a statement issued by the country's ministry of foreign affairs says, according to ANI.

Operation Sindoor live updates:  A 32-year-old Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar from Haryana’s Palwal district was killed in the intense cross-border artillery and mortar shelling by the Pakistan army after the Indian Armed forces successfully executed ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the early hours of Wednesday.

“He was recruited in 2014 and was recently promoted to Lance Naik. He was posted at Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir,” his father Daya Ram Sharma said. He added that the family got the information about the death of his son in the morning, and his last rites will be performed on Thursday.

During the intervening night of May 7 and May 8, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked fire using small arms and artillery guns across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor areas in J&K, the Indian Army says.

The Indian Army responded proportionately, it adds.

Operation Sindoor live updates: India’s strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir were based on information about the continuing support being provided from these locations to terrorists in India, according to counter-terrorism officials.

Anti-India-terror outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Hizbul Mujahideen, among others, have been receiving covert aid from the Pakistan Army and its Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency, in the form of systematically coordinated financial, logistics, doctrinal and military support besides direct combat training, they said.
