Parliament Session 2024 LIVE updates: “From the opposition side, if any of our members has violated any rule while speaking, they can give notice,” Parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said in Lok Sabha while in discussing on the motion of thanks brought on the President's address.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj moved a notice under Direction 115 in Lok Sabha over LoP Rahul Gandhi's speech. She alleged that LoP Rahul Gandhi “made several inaccurate statements” in his speech yesterday.

The notice states, "The abovementioned statements made by LoP in the Lok Sabha are factually incorrect and misleading in nature and hence appropriate proceedings ought to be initiated as provided under Rule 115. I therefore pray that you kindly take cognizance of the deliberate inaccuracies made by Rahul Gandhi and take necessary action."

In Lok Sabha, Congress MP KC Venugopal says, "Delhi Airport roof collapsed, Jabalpur Airport roof collapse, Rajkot Airport canopy collapse, conditions of roads in Ayodhya is bad, leakage in Ram Mandir, cracks in Mumbai Harbour link road, three new bridges collapsed in Bihar, Pragati maidan tunnel submerged, all these constructions during the NDA period have collapsed. Under their rule, every building is under the threat of collapsing... I am challenging the Prime Minister to inquire about the electoral bonds... One of the biggest scams the country ever saw is the electoral bond scam... "

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday shot off a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding that he restore the expunged portions of his maiden speech as the Leader of the Opposition. The senior leader alleged that a considerable portion of his speech was chopped off from the proceedings of the House under the garb of expunction. Read more.

PM Modi today urged the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) lawmakers to spend more time participating in parliamentary affairs, refrain from speaking to media out of turn, and focus on working as a team.

Addressing a meeting of the NDA parliamentary party, Modi called the Lok Sabha results a big win for the alliance. He added only the Opposition’s “arrogant alliance” or ghamandiya gathbandhan was reluctant to accept the verdict. Modi, who previously used to only address BJP lawmakers, said only one family has a problem accepting NDA’s return to power for the third time in a row. He did not take any names. Read more.

On LoP Rahul Gandhi's speech in the Lok Sabha, Shashi Tharoor tells PTI: "I didn't find anything wrong in what Rahul Gandhi said in Parliament. He said, pointing towards the BJP people, that there are people who call themselves Hindu, but indulge in spreading hatred and violence. We have been seeing this in politics that people misuse the name of 'Hindutva' without knowing much about it, without knowing what Swami Vivekananda taught us."

AAP leader Sanjay Singh tells PTI on reports of portion of Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha speech being expunged: "Rahul Gandhi has raised all the important issues of the country. I think removing those parts would not be right."

"We are in favour of caste census…We can never accept the Agniveer scheme. When the INDIA alliance comes to power, the Agniveer scheme will be scrapped...Legal guarantee of MSP on crops has not be implemented. Horticulture crops should also be given MSP..." says Akhilesh Yadav in Lok Sabha.

On EVMs, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav says, "...I didn't trust EVMs yesterday, and I don't trust them today. Even if I win 80 out of 80 seats, I still won't trust them...The issue of EVMs has not died."

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in the Lok Sabha: “The people are saying that this government won't run. It was a moral victory for the INDIA bloc in the (Lok Sabha) elections. It was a victory of positive politics.”

RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha on portions of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha speech being expunged: "You can remove a portion from (House) the proceedings, but not from the memory. He (Rahul Gandhi) said that no individual or organisation can be a contractor of a religion."

Discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address has resumed in the Lok Sabha. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is addressing the House.

On portions of his speech expunged, Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi tells reporters: "In Modi ji's world, truth can be expunged. But in reality, the truth can't be expunged. I said what I had to say, that is the truth. They can expunge as much as they want. Truth is truth."

"Yesterday, the way Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi behaved... he insulted the Speaker and spoke against the rules. Our NDA MPs should not behave against the set rules. It is a learning for all of us," says Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, according to PTI.

After the NDA parliamentary party meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the MPs to serve the nation.

“...Today, PM gave us a mantra which is very important. He said that every MP has been elected to the House to serve the nation. Irrespective of the party they belong to, service to the nation is our first responsibility. Every NDA MP has to work by prioritising the country, this is what the PM urged. Secondly, the PM guided us well regarding the conduct of MPs. He said that every MP should present the matters of their constituency in the House very well as per rules,” he said, according to ANI.

The parliamentary meeting of the NDA has concluded, reports ANI. Proceedings of the Parliament will begin at 11am.

Samajwadi Party MP from UP's Faizabad (Ayodhya) Awadhesh Prasad tells ANI: "I can't say much on the intelligence of BJP people but Rahul Gandhi did not make any objectionable comments on the entire Hindu community. Arre hum bhi toh Hindu samaj mein aate hain, bhai!..."

On Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's speech in the Parliament, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut says: "LoP Rahul Gandhi ji has not said anything wrong about Hindus and the Hindu community...He said that Modi ji is not Hindutva and BJP is not the entire Hindu community."

BJP MP and Union Minister Amit Shah has arrived for the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, reports ANI.

NDA leaders such as Giriraj Singh, Milind Deora, Kangana Ranaut and Jayant Chaudhary are at the Parliament premises for NDA's parliamentary meeting, reports ANI.
