Samay Raina appears before Maharashtra cyber cell over 'India's Got Latent' case
Maharashtra cyber police earlier recorded statements of Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Makhija and others.
YouTuber and comedian Samay Raina appeared before the officials of Maharashtra Cyber Cell in Mumbai on Friday for questioning in connection with the case registered against him and others for airing offensive remarks in an episode of his show “India's Got Latent.”
An FIR was registered after a controversy erupted in February against Ranveer Allahbadia's offensive remarks in an episode of “India's Got Latent” show. Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others appeared in the controversial episode of the show.

The FIR was based on allegations of promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions during the YouTube show, which has now been deleted.
The Maharashtra cyber police have reportedly summoned more than 30 people for questioning after registering an FIR against them. The agency had earlier recorded statements of Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Makhija and others.

What did Ranveer Allahbadia say?
The influencer passed the remark as a ‘question’ to a contestant who participated in the latest episode of comedian Samay Raina’s show 'India’s Got Latent' as a ‘judge’. Ranveer was accompanied by Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija aka ‘The Rebel Kid’ and others.
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?” Ranveer asked a contestant.
His fellow ‘judges’ also appeared to have been taken aback by Ranveer's remark.
“What the f***?” Raina retorted. “Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko? another ‘judge’ on the show was heard asking.

Ranveer had apologised for his controversial comment on the show and described the whole episode as a “lapse in judgment”.
“My comment was not just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. Just here to say sorry,” he said in a video statement.
During a hearing in the Supreme Court the bench also criticised Raina, without naming him, for him commenting on the case during his show in Canada. “These youngsters are being overly smart. They think we are probably an outdated generation. One of them has gone to Canada and spoken there. They don't know the jurisdiction which this Court enjoys and what probably can be done. We don't want to because they are young; we understand,” Justice Kant had said.
