Shiv Sena protests against relief for Burhan Wani’s brother
Shiv Sena activists raised anti-government slogans, blocked the Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua and burnt an effigy of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Shiv Sena activists on Saturday staged a protest and burnt an effigy of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti over the decision to grant ex-gratia to the kin of Khalid Wani -- brother of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani -- who was killed in anti-insurgency operations in the Valley.

Shiv Sena activists, led by senior leader Radhay Maharaj, raised anti-government slogans and blocked the Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua.
Maharaj said it was very unfortunate that the BJP-PDP government in the state had cleared the ex-gratia and by giving the compensation to the family members of Burhan Wani, Mehbooba had shown her “real face”.
Khalid was killed in anti-insurgency operations by security forces in Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 13, 2015.
