3 more of Chhota Rajan gang held

They had gone to Mumbai to bump off a businessman, identified as Ajai Ghosalia, at the instance of Chhota Rajan and his close Mumbai aides who were arrested today. Inspector AS Thakur of Dada Bhai Naurauji Nagar in Mumbai told HT on phone that those who were arrested on Friday were identified as Umed Khan-the right hand of Chhota Rajan, Vijay Krishna Rao and Girish Shah.

Girish Shah was the driver of the businessman. The murder could not take place as Mumbai cops had been tipped off about the impending crime. The arrests were made by Inspector Pradeep Sharma.To recall, Nihal Kumar alias Bachcha Pasi, a corporator from the city, Osama, former NSUI president at AU, Neeraj, resident of Cant in the city and Zafar, resident of Ambedkar Nagar had been nabbed by the Andheri police last Saturday while they were about to gun down the businessman. They had reportedly gone to Mumbai at the instance of Rajesj Yadav, a hard core criminal lodged in the Naini Jail here. Rajesh was also working for Chhota Rajan.

Inspector Thakur said that Chhota Rajan’s right hand man Umed Khan, who was nabbed today, had contacted Rajesh Yadav in Naini Jail to send some shooters. Bachcha Pasi had won the corporators election this time from Naiini jail where he had been lodged in a criminal offence. He has several criminal cases lodged against him. His other three accomplices were also criminals, said Inspector Thakur.

Succumbs: Rekha Vishwakarm 28, a resident of Chak Daud Nagar under Naini police station succumbed to burn injuries at the SRN hospital last night.

Suicide bid: A thirty year old farmer, Gulab Singh, resident of Mugra village under Ghurpur police station was admitted to the SRN hospital in a serious condition. He had reportedly consumed some pesticide after quarreling with a family member. He is still critical.

Injured: A prominent businessman of Katra market Rakesh Gupta 42 was critically injured after a Santro car hit his scooter near Nazreth hospital this afternoon. He has been admitted to a hospital. In another incident a truck ran over a 26 year old woman who was traveling with her husband resulting in injury.

She was identified as Shabnam Bano and was admitted to xthe SRN hospital in a critical condition.
