3 of a family injured in cylinder blast in Delhi

Seven people, two of them children, were injured in three explosions involving a cooking gas cylinder, an LPG pipeline and a refrigerator at three different places in Delhi on Friday, fire officials said.

Seven people, two of them children, were injured in three explosions involving a cooking gas cylinder, an LPG pipeline and a refrigerator at three different places in Delhi on Friday, fire officials said.

The explosions occurred between 1 and 1.15pm. A cooking gas cylinder burst in a house in Sunlight Colony in Sarai Kale Khan area, injuring a man, his wife and daughter. The fire department, which controlled the blaze, said the injuries were not serious.

Two more explosions---a refrigeration compressor burst in Harsh Vihar near Pitampura and an LPG pipeline blast in Uttam Nagar---resulted in injuries to four people, who were taken to hospital for treatment.

The police said the explosions were not linked.
