5 killed, 6 hurt in Davanagere road mishap

All the victims were travelling in the multi-utility vehicle when the mishap took place about 12 kms from Davanagere.

Five persons were killed and six injured in a head-on collision between a private bus and a multi-utility vehicle near Davanagere early on Friday.

All the victims were travelling in the multi-utility vehicle when the mishap took place on the National Highway 4 at Kogganur village, about 12 kms from Davanagere, police said.

The vehicle was on its way to Goa from Bangalore when it hit the bus heading from Davanagere to Tumkur, they said.

The six injured have been admittted to the government hospital at Davanagere, where the condition of all of them was stated to be serious.
