53 cases settled at Lok Adalat

53 CASES were settled at the 61st Lok Adalat held at Indore High Court bench today. The Lok Adalat bench comprising Justice J K Maheshwari and senior advocate D D Vyas passed insurance claim awards worth Rs 28 lakh.

Of the total number of cases settled, 33 were related to United Indian Insurance Company and 20 pertaining to National Insurance Company. About 250 insurance claim cases related to both the insurance companies were listed at the Lok Adalat.

Lok Adalat Law Officer D S Pande informed that 60 Lok Adalats held earlier settled 1,911 cases in which insurance awards worth Rs 18.89 crore were passed. The 62nd Lok Adalat will be held next month and New India Assurance and Oriental Insurance Company cases will be taken up.
