AISSF president joins Congress

President of All India Sikh Students Federation Harminder Singh Gill, who was jailed during militancy in Punjab, joined Congress.

President of All India Sikh Students Federation Harminder Singh Gill, who was also jailed during militancy in Punjab, on Tuesday joined Congress.

The joining of Gill in the Congress was announced by chief minister Amarinder Singh at his residence here this afternoon and state unit chief H S Hanspal welcomed him into the party fold.

Praising Amarinder Singh for the 'good work' done in the past two years in eradicating corruption, Gill, who joined alone, appealed to others in the SAD to leave the suffocating atmosphere and join the Congress.
