Attempt to vandalise art gallery in Ahmedabad

A group of unidentified persons tried to vandalise an art gallery on Monday where works of noted painter MF Hussain are on display, police sources said.

The security in the area has been tightened after the incident, they said.

Hussain has been under attack over his depiction of Hindu deities. BJP has described it as an "insult to the nation" and demanded his arrest. Vishwa Hindu Parishad has called it a "challenge to the patriots".
