The protestors pelted stones at some lorries at four places in the district, when its drivers tried to run their vehicles ignoring the strike, police said.

One person was injured and cases had been registered in connection with the incidents, they said.

Though the state-owned KSRTC is running additional services in addition to parallel services like mini-buses and share taxis, commuters had a tough time reaching their destinations.

The truckers' strike has already brought the movement of goods to a standstill in the entire northern region.
