The 23-year-old attended a hearing by match referee Chris Broad on Saturday after the match ended in a draw in Mohali.

"There is no place for this sort of appealing in international cricket. The player has apologised for his actions and I hope that will be the end of the matter," Broad said in a statement on Sunday.

Balaji captured nine wickets, including his maiden five-wicket innings haul, on his comeback after being sidelined for several months due to a pelvic injury.
