Replying to a starred-question of Vinod Narayan Jha (BJP) in the state assembly, Energy Minister and in-chrage of home (police) department, Vijendra Prasad Yadav said the state government had on December 12, 2006 recommended to the union home ministry to get the incident investigated by the CBI, but the investigating agency refused to take up the case.

He said though the police investigation into the case was on, the state government might approach the union home ministry for a CBI probe to recover the missing rare manuscripts and bring all those involved in the crime to justice.
