Rajesh Saha, father of Siddharta David Saha, lodged a complaint with Beniapukur police station on Friday accusing the six teachers of causing serious injuries to his son, they said.

In his complaint, Saha also said that his son suffered mental shock due to "repeated torture" by teachers.

Denying the charge, school authorities said Siddharta had not qualified the last annual examination and hence, not promoted to the next class and that there were complaints against him for beating his classmates often as well.

The school is contemplating moving the court against Saha, authorities said.

The incident comes a month after La Martinere School for Boys was involved in a police case after a high school student committed suicide which his parents said was a result of caning by the principal.
