"With a view of increased security set up along the border line, BSF troops have last week floated tenders for the flood lighting of 39 kms of International Border (IB) in Jammu frontier soon," BSF sources said.

The BSF had completed three-tier border fencing on 198 kms of International Border from Akhnoor (Jammu) to Pahadapur (Punjab) and another 160 kms area two years ago.

But some riverine and marshy land was left out and now it was decided to complete the fencing and flood lighting of the entire borderline, they said.

These floodlights would be installed in some patches in Samba, Jammu and Kathua districts on the border.

"With the full flood-lightening and border fencing, militants would be unable to cross-over to this side", they said.

BSF has also floated a tender for border fencing in Potha-Bandtop border belt in Samba district, they said.
