BSP to expose pro-capitalist stance of UPA: Mayawati

The BSP today said it would stage protest dharnas on July 22 at all assembly segments of the state to "expose the pro-capitalist stance" of the Congress-led alliance.

"The prices of all the goods have shot up because of this anti-people and pro-capitalist step taken by the UPA government to benefit those who had helped it in buying the votes of the poor in the elections," BSP president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati said here.

Similar protests would be held in other states too for which dates would be announced later to protest the hike in petrol and diesel prices, she said.

The chief minister alleged that instead of acting for the cause of the poor and unemployed, the Congress, during its long stint in power, had only worked for capitalists.
