Action under Section 14 of Child Labour Act 1986 would be taken against offenders, which entails imprisonment of three months to one year or a fine of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.

Additional collector (development) and district panchayat CEO Ashutosh Awasthi has directed all officials concerned to implement the directive and create awareness about this legal prohibition.

The administration plans to hold meetings and workshops at block, tehsil, sub-tehsil and police station levels in this context.

The administration will also conduct surveys to identify the number of child labourers employed in the district. At police station level, owners of hotels, restaurants, entertainment centres, etc. will be called for a meeting and asked to comply with the directive.

The officials have also been given directives to identify whether parents of children working at various places are themselves unemployed, so that their names could be registered under employment guarantee scheme or other such schemes of the government. Efforts will also be made to impart education to the child labourers.
