City pays homage to soul of shehnai maestro

District committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a condolence meet at its office on Tuesday where the activists of BJP prayed peace for the departed soul of Khan Saheb. District president Bachchanu Patel termed the demise of Bismillah Khan as ‘a loss of a great son of great nation.’
He said no one could take the place of Bismillah Khan, who was still in the heart of music lovers.
Prominent among those who attended the condolence meeting included Shyama Charan Singh Patel, Rakesh Singh Algu, Arti Singh, Puran Masi Verma, etc.
Similarly, minority cell of the BJP organised a condolence meeting at its office today and expressed their deep sorrow on the demise of Bismillah Khan. The activists under the leadership of Haidar Abbas Chand prayed for peace for the departed soul.
The activists of the Bahujan Samaj Party organised a condolence meeting today and termed the demise of Bismillah Khan as an ‘irreparable loss for the nation’.
BSP leader Khurshid Qureshi said that Bismillah Khan had left the materialistic world but the echo of his shehnai tune will continue to rule the hearts of music lovers. Prominent among those who attended the condolence meeting included Javed Khan, Ismail Rain, Mohamad Arif, Nadim Kureshi, Shaukat Ali, etc.
The Youth Congress activists organised a condolence meeting and expressed their deep sorrow on the demise of Khan Saheb.
Bishop of Diocese of Benaras Dr Patrick D’ Souza in his condolence message termed the demise of Khan Saheb as a great loss to the society.
The activists of Kurmi Kshatriya Mahasabha also termed his demise as a loss of a rare jewel of country. Teachers and students of Saint John’s School in Mahrauli on Tuesday observed two minutes silence.
