MADHYA PRADESH Government will ensure that former legislators get necessary facilities besides utilisation of their experience in public life, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said today.

“Recommendations of the Raghuvanshi Committee — appointed for listing facilities necessary for former MLAs — would be implemented,” Chouhan announced while addressing a conference of former MLAs at the Vidhan Sabha conference hall here. He said former MLAs were in close contact with people and strive to resolve issues of public interest.

In recognition of their contribution in public life, the State Government will ensure that former legislators get necessary facilities.

Chouhan said ex-legislators should cooperate with the Government in implementing developmental programmes. Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani said the State Government had been apprised of the recommendations of Raghuvanshi Committee. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s positive attitude towards providing facilities to former legislators.

On behalf of former MLAs, Raghunandan Sharma, Shivkumar Shrivastava, Tanvant Singh Keer and Brijendra Singh Sisodia welcomed the Chief Minister and the guests.

Deputy Speaker in Vidhan Sabha Hazarilal Raghuvanshi, leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi and Finance Minister Raghavji also spoke on the occasion.
