“The Maruti container can enter in the city from 9:30pm to 7am, when the movement of private vehicles is very less,” a traffic police official said.

“Apart from that, only 30 containers and heavy trucks will be allowed to enter in the city so that traffic will not be disturb and their timing will be between 11am and 4pm,” the official said.

Alok Mittal, Joint commissioner of police, said: “There is a need of collective efforts to control such incidents.”

“The trucks are mainly meant for industries located in the city. So we have issued notice to industries,” he said, adding that the heavy vehicles have also been warned against overtaking.
