Recorded at around 3:30 pm, the maximum temperature was 4.8 degrees above normal, officials of the Meteorological Department said in New Delhi.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 22.9 degrees Celsius, one degrees below normal, they said.

There will not be any respite from the heat for Delhiites with the MET officials predicting temperatures to hover around 43 degree Celsius.

However, the officials ruled out the possibility of heatwave striking the national capital though neighbouring Punjab and Rajasthan are reeling under them.
