The day-time temperature in the city was 2 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature on Tuesday morning, however, was at a cool 22.6 degrees Celsius, two below normal.

Things are not expected to cool down in the coming three days, with maximum temperature expected to touch 42 degrees on all three days. The weatherman doesn’t hold out much hope for showers either, with clear skies expected in the city till Friday. There is a chance of thundershowers on Saturday.

On Tuesday itself, while the temperature reading showed 41 degrees C at Safdarjung — the reference point when talking about the temperature in Delhi — the temperature in other areas was higher. The Ridge area was the hottest in the city at 42.5 degrees C while Palam was cooler at 40.8 degrees C.
