Addressing a press conference, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader expressed his doubts over fairness in counting of votes and demanded deployment of para-military force or SSB during the counting on November 6.
Narayan alleged that the administration did not ensure the safety of ballot boxes. SSB was deployed at Mundera on November 1 afternoon after pressure was mounted by BSP workers on the district administration. He alleged that administration had deployed its favourite station officers and policemen at Mundera on October 31. That clearly showed the intention of the administration, he added.
Narayan charged the district administration with violating the Model Code of Conduct by not discharging their duty properly.
Referring to several instances, BSP leader alleged booth capturing by SP leader.
Bahujan Samaj Party chief election agent Ram Shiromani Shukla submitted a written complaint to the zonal magistrate AK Rai who refused to take action.
Meanwhile, Congress mayoral candidate Chaudhry Jitendra Nath Singh also alleged that the district administration was working as ruling party’s agent during the Nagar Nigam election.
Reacting to the ward-wise data presented by the district administration regarding the voting percentage, the he said there was no truth in the data.
He said the administration had shown wrong figures to ensure the victory of the SP candidate.
Meanwhile Dileep Jaiswal, former corporator apprehended threat to his life from the activists of a political party and demanded that the culprits should be taken to task immediately.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, Jaiswal said although he had filed a first information report against the culprits, the police did not take any action against them.
He said, “SP activists Rajesh Gupta and secretary Bhola Nath Gupta along with their accomplices attacked my house and damaged my car, motor-cycle, scooter and threatened me while firing in the air. My supporters and the residents of Kydganj staged a chakka jam after knowing about the incident.
Kydganj police have registered an FIR.
