During the meeting, the EC is said to have taken stock of the administrative preparations in connection with the forthcoming Assemble poll.
The divisional commissioners of Varanasi and Vidhya divisions along with their district magistrates shared discussions, received necessary instructions for the preparation of voter list and photo identity cards of the electorate during the meeting. The meeting began at 4.30 pm and details were awaited till the filing of this report.
Meanwhile, prior to it, election observer Sudarshan Sethi, held a meeting with the public representatives of Varanasi division organised at the conference hall of the Circuit House here on Monday.
The meeting aimed at reviewing the situation in connection with preparations of photo identity cards for the electorate by the election employees.
The public representatives of different political parties including the Congress, the BJP, the BSP, rhe SP and other regional parties shared discussions with the election observer.
Sources said the election observor suggested the district returning officers to send teams of videography at the doorsteps of such electorate, who were not capable of coming to the camps due to some reason.
He also took stock of the progress of work for the preparation of finalising the assemblywise voter lists.
